Chinese operations of a World leader in Coil springs and stabilizers

Better protection, no waste and better handling with Magnum Classic CI 975. The new plant for springs and stabilizers in Chengdu is the first production facility in western China for this world leader. Springs and stabilizers are safety parts that must be handled carefully and efficiently .

With initial one way packaging that were used, refusal ratio and bad stacking capacity in trucks were causing quality problems and handling issues for operators.

SOLUTION

INITIAL SITUATION

Fragile "no dust" brake systems were packed individually in film and cardboard boxes with lids, piled up on one way wooden pallet. This packaging system was both time consuming and expensive. Because of long distance road transport to the OEM‘s, there were still damages to the parts and dust claims by customers.

SOLUTION

Magnum Optimum 1200x1000x975, 2 skids, with lid and specific thermoformed trays with recessed individual cells 2 drop doors on end and side to optimize operator loading and unloading tight fitting lid with straps insures no absolutely no dust inside during storage and transport.

Continental Automotive CZ is manufacturing and assembling pumps and engines modules for major OEM worldwide. Fiat FC1 modules are delivered 1700 kms away from Turnov factory. One way packaging systems proved to be expensive because complex time consuming and ineffective as dust was polluting modules.

Alternators and engine parts

INITIAL SITUATION

Alternators and engine parts were stored and sent to customers in cardboard boxes, on one way wooden pallets parts were wrapped with film and separated by cardboard dividers. Still protection was not optimized, and truck filling was bad due to impossibility to stack up loads that were too fragile.

SOLUTION

Magnum Classic CE 950 offers the perfect internal space and protection of the parts. Thermoformed trays with individual cell for each alternator avoid damage and increase the number of parts per container.

Cables assembly workshop Nexans

INITIAL SITUATION

EKR Elektrokontakt (automotive branch of cable world leader Nexans) recently opened two plants in both Romania and Republic of Moldavia. Half finished products, received from other Nexans sites, have to be stored and transfered to workshops on time for further processing. These crates had to be compatible with both standard steel shelves and KanBan Systems.

INITIAL SITUATION

Magna, a leading company in interior and exterior automotive parts, was using lightweight multi components containers.
Many quality issues were raised as during long distance transport, disassembly would occur and damage to the parts.
Trunk floors for luxury car brand in particular had constant customer claims.

Customer is tier 1 supplier of Kia in Slovakia so in charge of assembly of door frames. Delivery and storage of supplied metal parts and frames were in one way packaging on wooden pallets.

The initial packaging used was multi parts multi material foldable solution, with soft plastic panels, separated pallet and lid.

All packaging is durable and withstand 7 years project. Movable sliding pockets makes handling – loading/unloading parts – easier. Folding and erecting of container is easy for 1 person, folding takes 20 sec, erecting takes 40 sec.

Schoeller Allibert's Magnum SH 835 HD with sequential number to enable individual management of FLC's. Schoeller Allibert also conducted an operator training session so that all users were fully aware of the handling requirements and features of these units.
